Chicken & Sausage Alfredo Skillet

Super simple, but oh-so-flavorful, pasta skillet meal! You’ll get the “base” of the meal into the freezer, then add the pasta, cream and cheeses on the day you wish to serve it. Enjoy!

Ingredients for Single Meal

  • 2 - large boneless chicken breasts
  • 2 - smoked sausage links
  • 1 - Tbsp olive oil
  • 1 - Tbsp Cajun seasoning
  • 2 - tsp garlic powder
  • 3 - cup(s) chicken stock broth
  • 16 - oz. small shell pasta**
  • 2 - cup(s) heavy cream**
  • 1 - cup(s) Parmesan cheese**
  • 2 - cup(s) shredded mozzarella cheese**
  • - Salt and pepper
  • Side: - salad**
  • 1 - gallon-size freezer baggie(s)

Cooking Directions for Single Meal

  1. Cut the chicken breasts into bite-size pieces. Slice the smoked sausage.
  2. In a large skillet, brown the chicken breast pieces in the olive oil. Once browned, toss in the smoked sausage, Cajun seasoning and garlic powder and saute together for 1 minute. Pour in the chicken stock and pasta. Press pasta into the liquid and cover with tight fitting lid. Bring to bubbling and cook for 8 to 10 minutes.
  3. Once the pasta is al dente, stir in the cream and Parmesan cheese and let simmer for 3 to 4 minutes. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Top with shredded mozzarella cheese and serve.
  4. Prepare the salad.
  5. Serve Chicken & Sausage Alfredo Skillet with side salad.

Freezeasy Meal Prep Directions

  1. Cut 4 chicken breasts into bite-size pieces. Slice 4 smoked sausage links.

To each gallon-size plastic freezer baggie, add the following ingredients:

  • Half of the diced chicken breasts
  • Half of the sliced smoked sausage
  • 1 Tbsp Cajun seasoning
  • 2 tsp garlic powder
  • 3 cups chicken stock
  • Do NOT add the pasta, cream or cheeses before freezing.

Remove as much air as possible and seal. Add label to baggie and freeze.

Freeze & Thaw Instructions

Put baggie in the freezer and freeze up to 6 months in fridge freezer or 12 months in a deep freezer. Thaw in the fridge overnight, or a warm bowl of water for about 20 minutes, before transferring to the skillet and bringing the meats and stock to bubbling. Once the chicken is cooked through, stir in the pasta, then cream and cheese, as directed.
