Cooking Directions for Single Meal

  1. Toss the beef and cornstarch together in a bowl.
  2. Add canola oil to base of the Dutch oven and brown the beef over high heat.
  3. Stir in the garlic, minced onion, minced ginger, soy sauce, water and brown sugar. Then add the shredded carrots and crushed red pepper.
  4. Reduce heat and cook for 20 minutes, or until beef is cooked through.
  5. Cook the rice, as directed.
  6. Prepare veggies.
  7. Serve Dutch Oven Mongolian Beef over rice with veggies and optional green onion garnish.

Freezeasy Meal Prep Directions

  1. Toss together 3 lbs. beef strips with 4 Tbsp canola oil and 4 Tbsp cornstarch.
  2. Whisk together 4 crushed garlic cloves, 2 Tbsp minced onion, 2 tsp minced ginger, 1 1/3 cups soy sauce, 1 1/3 cups water, 1 1/3 cups brown sugar.

To each gallon-size plastic freezer baggie, add the following ingredients:

  • Half of the beef strips coated in cornstarch
  • Half of the prepared sauce
  • Half of 1 lb. bag shredded carrots
  • 1 tsp crushed red pepper

Remove as much air as possible and seal. Add label to baggie and freeze.

Freeze & Thaw Instructions

Put baggie in the freezer and freeze up to 6 months in fridge freezer or 12 months in a deep freezer. Thaw in a warm bowl of water for about 20 minutes, before transferring to the Dutch oven and cooking for 30 minutes.
