I hope you enjoy this ‘hungarian-ish’ goulash taht has been americanized to cook in a single skillet. If you want a more Hungarian type of meal, serve with egg noodles and tiny beef cubes instead of ground beef. Enjoy!
Ingredients for Single Meal
- 1 - lb(s) ground beef
- 1 - Tbsp minced onion
- 1 - tsp garlic powder
- 1 - 15 oz. can(s) crushed tomatoes
- 1 - Tbsp sweet Hungarian paprika
- 1 - 10 oz bag frozen green peppers
- 1 - cup(s) frozen carrots
- 2 1/2 - cup(s) beef broth
- 1 - 12 oz. box(es) of elbow pasta**
- Garnish: - shredded mozzarella cheese**
- Garnish: - dollops sour cream**
- Side: - salad**
- 1 - gallon-size freezer baggie(s)**

Cooking Directions for Single Meal
- In a large skillet, brown the ground beef with the minced onion and garlic powder. Drain and return to the skillet. Stir in the crushed tomatoes and paprika with the green peppers, carrot slices, and beef broth. Bring to bubbling, then add the pasta. Stir and press the pasta into the liquid and cover with a tight fitting lid. Reduce heat to medium and cook for 8 to 9 minutes, or until pasta is tender.
- Garnish with shredded mozzarella cheese or sour cream.
- Prepare the salad.
- Serve Hungarian-ish Goulash with side salad.

- Brown 2 lbs. ground beef with 2 Tbsp minced onion and 2 tsp garlic powder. Drain and set aside to cool.
To each gallon-size plastic freezer baggie, add the following ingredients:
- Half of the browned ground beef
- 1 - 15 oz. can crushed tomatoes
- 1 Tbsp sweet Hungarian paprika
- 1 - 10 oz. bag frozen chopped green pepper
- 1 cup frozen carrot slices
- 2 1/2 cups beef broth
- Salt and pepper
- Do NOT freeze the pasta with the meal.
Remove as much air as possible and seal. Add label to baggie and freeze.
Freeze & Thaw Instructions
Put baggie in the freezer and freeze up to 6 months in fridge freezer or 12 months in a deep freezer. Thaw in the fridge overnight, or a warm bowl of water for about 20 minutes, before transferring to the skillet to reheat and then add pasta as directed in the skillet.
Dairy-Free Modifications
Omit cheese garnish for dairy-free meal.
