This chicken is amazing. The sauce is amazing, the chicken is perfectly tender. You can make your own cream of mushroom soup and ranch mix too!
Ingredients for Single Meal
- 4 - Tbsp butter
- 4 - Tbsp all purpose flour
- 2 - cup(s) milk
- 1 - tsp salt
- To taste - pepper
- 4 - oz. baby bella mushrooms
- 2 - large boneless chicken breasts
- 1 - packet(s) ranch dressing mix
- 4 - oz. cream cheese**
- Side: - dinner rolls**
- Side: - veggies**
- 1 - gallon-size freezer baggie(s)

Cooking Directions for Single Meal
- Wash and chop the mushrooms.
- In a large skillet or saucepan, melt the butter and then whisk in the flour. Whisking while pouring, add the milk to the flour-butter paste. Whisk milk in vigorously until the flour melts into the milk. Over medium heat, bring to bubbling and the sauce will begin to thicken. Add the salt and chopped mushrooms. {Let cool for 10-15 minutes if you are adding the sauce to the freezer bags during the all at once assembly of the packs.}
- Place the chicken in the base of the slow cooker and season with salt and pepper and then add the ranch dressing mix over the top. Pour the homemade cream of mushroom soup over top of the chicken.
- Set on low and cook for 8 hours. When there is 30 minutes left in the cooking cycle, switch the slow cooker to high and add the cream cheese and let it melt into the sauce.
- Heat dinner rolls.
- Prepare veggies.

- In a large skillet or saucepan, melt 8 Tbsp butter and then whisk in 8 Tbsp flour. Whisking while pouring, add 4 cups milk to the flour-butter paste. Whisk vigorously until the flour melts into the milk. Over medium heat, bring to bubbling and the sauce will begin to thicken. Add 2 tsp salt and the chopped mushrooms. Set aside and let cool.
To each gallon-size plastic freezer baggie, add the following ingredients:
- 2 large boneless skinless chicken breasts
- 1 packet ranch dressing mix
- Half of the prepared white sauce
- (Note: let bag cool in the fridge before freezing.)
Remove as much as air as possible and seal.
Freeze & Thaw Instructions
Put baggie in the freezer and freeze up to 6 months in fridge freezer or 12 months in a deep freezer. Thaw in the fridge overnight, or a warm bowl of water for about 20 minutes, before transferring to the slow cooker and cooking on low for 8 hours. Stir in cream cheese at the end of cooking as directed.

Do NOT add cream cheese to freezer bag.

Add the contents of the freezer baggie to the slow cooker and cook on low for 8 hours. With 1 hour left in the cooking cycle, stir 4 oz. cream cheese into the sauce.
