Cooking Directions for Single Meal

  1. Slice the onion into half-moon pieces.
  2. Remove the pits from the plum and quarter the flesh.
  3. Place the beef roast into the base of the slow cooker and season with salt and pepper. Spread the onion slices and plum pieces over the top.
  4. In a small mixing bowl, whisk together the hoisin sauce, beef broth and plum sauce. Pour the hoisin-plum sauce over the top of the beef, onions, and plums.
  5. Set the slow cooker on low and cook for 8 hours. Once finished cooking, shred the beef with 2 forks and mix into the sauce.
  6. Prepare salad.
  7. Warm the dinner rolls.
  8. Serve Slow Cooker Hoisin Beef Roast with dinner rolls and salad.

Freezeasy Meal Prep Directions

  1. Slice 2 small white onions into half-moon pieces.
  2. Remove the pits from 8 plums, and quarter the flesh.
  3. In a small mixing bowl, whisk together 2 cups hoisin sauce, 1 cup beef broth and 1 cup plum sauce.

To each gallon-size plastic freezer baggie, add the following ingredients:

  • 2 lb. beef chuck roast
  • Half of the sliced onions
  • Half of the quartered plums
  • Half of the hoisin-plum sauce mixture

Remove as much air as possible and seal. Add a label to the baggie and freeze.

Freeze & Thaw Instructions

Put baggie in the freezer and freeze for up to 6 months in the fridge freezer or 12 months in a deep freezer. Thaw in the fridge overnight, or a warm bowl of water for about 20 minutes, before transferring to the slow cooker and cooking on low for 8 hours.
