  • 1 - red bell pepper(s)
  • 1 - green bell pepper(s)
  • 1 - 8 oz can(s) tomato sauce
  • 1 - 4 oz. can(s) green chiles
  • - Salt and pepper
  • Side: - salad**

Cooking Directions for Single Meal

  1. Slice the sausage links. Place the slices into the base of the slow cooker insert.
  2. Dice the bell peppers.
  3. Pour the tomato sauce, diced green chilies, and diced bell peppers over the top. Mix well. Set the slow cooker on low and cook for 8 hours. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  4. Prepare the salad.
  5. Serve Slow Cooker Spicy Sausage and Peppers with side salad.

Freezeasy Meal Prep Directions

  1. Slice 2 lbs. sausage links.
  2. Dice 2 green and 2 red bell peppers.
  3. Open 2 cans of diced green chilies.
  4. Open 2 cans of tomato sauce.

To each gallon-size plastic freezer baggie, add the following ingredients:

  • Half of the sliced sausage
  • Half of the canned tomato sauce
  • Half of the canned diced green chilies
  • Half of the diced red and green bell peppers
  • Salt and pepper

Remove as much air as possible and seal. Add label to baggie and freeze.

Freeze & Thaw Instructions

Put baggie in the freezer and freeze up to 6 months in fridge freezer or 12 months in a deep freezer. Thaw in the fridge overnight, or a warm bowl of water for about 20 minutes, before transferring to the slow cooker and cooking on low for 8 hours.
